Comments:
The Rumour is a very slender boat that has an extremely low volume cockpit. It also has a minuscule storage capacity, but this boat is a blast to paddle.
The Rumour’s bow is quite buoyant, but the stern is much less so. The result is a boat that is quite nimble in rough water and has a certain aptitude as a surf boat.
At 19 ¾” wide there is somewhat of an introductory period with respect to the boat’s utter lack initial stability. However, this is one of the few boats that I have felt was a part of me. Though many paddlers prefer a roomy cockpit, the Rumour’s small cockpit enables the paddler to have absolute control over the boat.
Current Designs recommends the Rumour for “smaller paddlers up to 160 pounds”. If you can squeeze into the cockpit, the Rumour will give you many hours of good paddling.
